Martin Grant’s Paris Home Shows That Classic And Contemporary Goes Along Well

I assume that many of us have the basic idea of interior design. As what our masters in design mentors have said, we should match items of the same them, color, and more. Therefore, we end up designing our contemporary homes with modern and elegant home décor and furniture pieces and old houses with antiques and the like. However, the Paris Home of Australian born fashion designer Martin Grant shows that even classic homes can be matched flawlessly with contemporary home decors and furniture sets. Martin was able to create an eye-catching contrast of his white painted wall against the dark timber floors. Furniture pieces are a combination of glass, wood, metal, and fabric that went along enough creating an elegant and modern home interior with a contemporary ambiance. -via

Mini-Maison: Space Isn’t A Problem At All

As the population continues to grow, enough living space is becoming a problem. More and more newly built housing units nowadays have very limited space. However, space is not a problem at all if you have ideas as brilliant as with Vanden Eeckhoudt-Creyf, an architect based in Brussels, Belgium. He was able to create a spacious living space and bed space by making use of the vertical space that the mini-maison has. He cut out the historic house’s original stairs and replaced it with extremely elegant and sleek staircases. The top most part of the house is where the bed is located along with a bookshelf. -via

Hoxton House: David Mikhail Architects’ Way Of Giving You Ideas For Your Home Interior Design

Decorating our home is a huge challenge. Even I is having a big trouble in keeping our small place in order. That is why, the moment I see the Hoxton House by David Mikhail Architects, I get some ideas from it. The glazed façade that was added to connect the small courtyard garden with the kitchen creates a spacious and refreshing look. The removal of the rear part living room floor that creates a double-height kitchen and a dining area sounds perfect, as it creates enough space for the kitchen and dining area’s fixtures like the pendant light you see in the picture. -via

Designing our home interior is a challenge especially if it has limited space and we do not have the talent of designing things and spaces.
