Magic Beans: A Hanger That Works Like Magic

Stylish and sculptural furniture designs really helps a lot in every home’s interior design. They will not only perform their function but will also work like magic as they form part of your room’s interior design like the MagicBeans by Max Battaglia who submitted his work to HomeDosh.

The Idea :
Everybody loves to hear stories otherwise; things such as theatre, cinema and literature would not be born. This project takes inspiration from a fairy tale: jack and the magic beans. In this story, the protagonist plants some magical seeds bought in a market and the day after discover that they grew up until the sky, over the clouds. The story goes on, but for us could be sufficient jack (the white puppets and the bean plant the green rope). MagicBeans is a funny and ironic coat hanger suitable for any room in the house. Nevertheless though its unusual shape it works very well and the attachment points are adjustable both in number and in height.

The hanging system:
Thanks to the friction that the rope makes passing through the puppet, this one doesn’t fall down when something is hanged on. The height of the hanging point can be easily changed if the user slide the puppet on the rope gently. This system is similar to the famous Flos light Parentesi.

Nowadays, MagicBeans is only a prototype and I am looking for somebody that could produce and sell it. If you will be in Milan during the Design week (14 to 19 April) you may see MagicBeans “live” during the Decò 2010 Show – Design Plaza , World Join Center Milan (www.wjc.it).

The prototype was developed with the collaboration of Base Srl, a society based in Erba (Co) that already worked for famous international designer.

Designer biography.
Max Battaglia is an Italian product designer born in 1980. He studied Industrial design at Politecnico di Milano and after graduation; he started to collaborate with many design studios. During these years, he worked for many important clients such as Fiat Group, Telecom Italia, Pirelli Broadband Solutions and Planex. His hobbies are photography and design contests.
